I hope you’ll join this love affair.
Talking all things DC, where to dine and drink, our worldly travels and some snippets of my life BTS.
Welcome! I’m Amanda.
I’m so glad you’re here. I’m putting all embarrassment and risk to the side and choosing to take a leap of faith in hopes of building a community around enjoying the finer things in life.
What’s the deal?
I’m a 30 year old Washingtonian living in Adams Morgan, DC with my husband, Will, and our English Bulldog, Chuck. We got married at Iron Gate restaurant in October 2022 and love all things DC, history, food, and travel.
A few months ago, I was post-wedding with Will recovering from Achilles surgery (he ruptured it 10 days before our wedding, which is a story for another day), and my job as a recruiter in Big Tech slowed down and felt less stable. After a year of pouring myself into planning our DC wedding and subsequent (& canceled) minimoon to Napa, I found myself with lots of time on my hands.
Will and I sometimes joke that our life, dates and dining experience are so wonderful and so frequent that we need to lie about how much we’re actually going out. Every friend and acquaintance texts us before booking anything. Where should we get drinks before a concert? I’m meeting a picky friend for dinner in Georgetown, any ideas? Where can we continue the party after a boozy Saturday brunch?
I hope you’ll join this love affair.
Will and I fell in love at the bars and restaurants in DC, and I can still see us batting eyes at one another on our first dates over red wine and brownie sundaes from every restaurant that would serve us both at the bar (no dinner, just wine and dessert). My hope is to share our love for food with this audience.
My goal is to share some insight into our dining adventures and travels on Mondays after a weekend of exploring. I’ll be sharing things like our favorite dishes in all of DC, where I’d send a bachelorette party, the top places to get great Chinese in the area, or where we went when we ventured to new territory around the world.
